Wedding Planning

Happy New Year!
And another congrats to you if you got engaged over the festive season ... or even New Year's. Ooh and how exciting if you can say that you are getting married this year!

I thought it would be a good idea to start off this year's blog posts about wedding planning and inspiration.
Planning a wedding can be and should be fun ... it's one of the biggest and most special days of your life ... but it can be stressful especially if you don't have any idea where to start or what you even want.

There is no set way to plan a wedding ... you can be as traditional or unconventional as you like ... and the order in which you do things is not set in stone, but there are a good number of things you should consider. Download your free copy of my Planner Check-list and carry it around in your handbag to always have it on hand when you need it.

So ... here are my top tips for planning a wedding ...
1) Work out a budget
Decide on how much you can afford without going into any kind of credit and work out how much you can put away monthly. This makes it much easier if you need to, or will be, getting help from parents. Once you know what you can afford and how much you need ... it then makes it easy to stick to a budget.
2) Decide on your priorities
There will be at least one thing that you want more than anything on your special day ... and at least one thing you won't mind not having. Decide on what's important and what's not so you know where to save money and where you can afford to splash out.
3) Take a break
It's easy to get caught up in all the planning and dreaming of your special day but remember your day is about you and your partner ... so you both should be involved in all the plans. But don't forget to take a breather from it every now and then and do something completely non-wedding related for a day.
4) Hire a wedding planner
If for nothing else ... Hire a wedding planner for On the Day Co-ordination. It's a really great feeling getting to your wedding day and knowing you have planned it all yourself ... but do you really want to spend the day worrying about everything being just right? Spend the day, like your guests, enjoying every moment.

I hope this has helped a little and there is plenty more info on the website but would love for you to share your tips or experiences so please leave a comment or get in touch!
Until next time ...
